yall dont forget us folks down here in the low grounds. Im outside of raleigh in Clayton and the word is it might get a little rough. Generator and stuff....we are prepared
 
it hasn' done too much in charlotte from what I have seen. Going camping tomorrow so I hope it doesn't stick around
 
Plenty of rain in Calabash.. Looks as if its gonna be direct hit
 
I am in Sanford, S of Raleigh about 30 miles. All it looks like we are due in for is maybe 5" of rain, and wind gusts of 40 to 50. I went out this afternoon and secured everything loose in the yard, trash can, lawn chairs, etc. Nobody else in my neighborhood has done anything at all. Same thing in my mom's neighborhood. I guess I got it from growing up with boats at the beach, and living down there for a while.

I filled up my water jugs and made sure I had some beer on hand. Not much else I can do until its done.

and just to add, everyone stay away from windows and be safe.

In case you are really in the dark... actually, its just a big TS, coming in somewhere between MB and Brunswick County. Center tracking up more or less I-95 corridor thru the state.
 
well we keep getting the rain bands so far...I think it may get a little worse later...so far we are good. beer, water, & generator. Oh did I mention beer

i am almost out of beer, DOH!

We are getting the heavy rain right now...and getting a little windy, finally. Probably lose power in another hour or so.
 
wait for Ike, There is a guy in town named the same thing... and so far the storm is following his personality, We are all doomed!!!!!

Im a firefighter and I work at a grocery store, I know about any and all weather, as well as what everyone thinks the weather is going to do at least a week before anything happens.

It's almost like being psychic, but instead of having Ms Cleo telling you your fortune, you get Ms.Mavis, Clem with the trick knee from down the road and NOAA
