HVAC in Raleigh? (AC part mainly)

I've only used this company for routine service, but their costs were far below any of the other local companies ($85 versus $125-$175 for a yearly cleaning/checkup.)

A friend of mine recommended them after getting a pretty comprehensive HVAC update which involved going from a single compressor system to separate upstairs and downstairs systems. He was very pleased with the quality of work and price.
 
How are you sure it's just freon? How'd you check it? Is the fan running? Does the compressor do anything? Do you have 24V at the contactor on the compressor. Line voltage at the contactor? How's the capacitor look? [yoda voice]Many questions I have.[/yoda voice]
