I know with the weather we've been having lately that my AC is going to run more, and with the humidity, I'll have more Condesation on the outside of my Cooloing unit in my Crawl space.

So I was under there just now spraying for bugs and notice a pretty heavy drip. On closer inspection I found that the main pipe from my Central Return to the coiling unit had water leaking from it. Meaning Water in my system. Not runing from the outside. It's actually torn/Seperated and leaking from inside the tube. I poked my knife in the bottom and it poured out. Where's this water coiming from? Is it a sign of something else not draining/working right? and is there something I can do to cut down on the condensation? BESIDES turning the temp up. I've got a Pregnant lady in the house, in her 8th month and it just can't be cold enough :D

its just condensation/sweat most likely.

We had a situation last summer I caused by knocking a block out from under our drin pan line and caused i to back up into thee pan and then the condenser unit itself.

When the guy came out he told me that in this area 8-10 gallons/day of sweat/condensation is "normal" seemed unrealistic to me but he has been doing this for a while and knows his crap, so I dont know...

the air is moving and stagnats in the lower dips of the flex run, causing the condensation the does NOT evap out before it enters to pool.

I'm sure mine is doing the same thing, I'm just in no condition to be messing with it at this time.

The best/easiest fix is to re-hang the flex so there are no low spots ( tough to do ) and there is a pitch to a common low point.

Ideally, rigid ducting would be the best fix, with a designed in pitch. THis gets into $$$.

Your house built in the last 15-20 years ?

and it is the low spot. the return flex drops down thru the floor, makes a couple bends and into the cooling unit. It's righ there as it enters the cooling unit that it's at it's lowest point and can't really be done a whole lot different unless as you said... $$$

thanks.
