Just wanted to throw it out there that Duke Energy is moving a transformer tomorrow from the Lincolnton area to Concord using Hwy73. Not sure what time, but I was warned to not travel 73 tomorrow unless I wanted to move at a snail's pace!

My loader guy was caught out there yesterday, when they were paving around Concord/Davidson Rd. 45 min wait. This morning it was all clear, but I hit some project at McQuire today around 1:30. Paving crew was done & parked when I made it by at 2:00. Traffic was stopped from Hwy 16, to I-77. I didn't return that way, as on a Friday, it would Never recover!
And 77 N. was stopped as I crossed it on 73 [Sam Furr]. :poop:

That's only going to get worse sometime in the near future; they're going to widen 73 over that entire stretch from Lincolnton to Concord sometime. It's on the infrastructure projects map, but I can't remember the schedule that I saw while back.

There's also a 5 or 10 year project to widen 150 from 77 to 16. That's going to suck too.

Yea, I spoke to DOT about 6 months back about the intersection of Old 16 & 73. The light timing & Turn lanes, Suck! There is some Un-used pavement, & other ideas I passed along. With Trilogy building Fast, along with other local areas, a New 30 acre Publix shopping center is going in across from the Harris Tetter. Their Aware of it, & mentioned "Future" widening plans, but that's All they had to offer. Just like 77, it gets Much Worse, before it gets any better. By That time, it's Too Late! NC is Always 20 years Behind!:kaioken:

I work near 77 & 73...the construction sucks! Adding all these neighborhoods on a single lane over used road is ridiculous! Of course working 7-4 makes life a little easier, but its a gamble some days. I heard a DOT study a few years ago said Hwy73 supported enough traffic it could be a 6 lane highway...I also heard 73 is supposed to be widened from 85 to 77 to a 4 lane by 2025 IIRC?
