I've been having a few problems out of the engangement of my clutch on my yota these past couple of days. It's acting like it not fully engaging the clutch, hard to get into gear while stopped and while moving. I'm just wondering what the usual root cause of this could be. The sys looks good from the outside, no leaks nothing loose. Which should I try first the mc or the slave cylinder? And is there a way to test each?

Check your fluid level. it's probably at the bottom of the reservoir.
 
First get someone in it to push the pedal and see how far the slave moves. It should move out a couple of inches. If not it could be the master leaking internally.
 
Figured it out, turns out the push rod adj nut backed off a little causing this. Thanks for the help anyway man.
