Hydrastar EOH brake pump quit, rebuild options?

The hydrastar unit on one of my trailers quit. I'm getting power to it and the brake controller is sending a voltage signal, but the pump doesn't run. It gets warm but acts like it's locked up.

These jokers aren't cheap, anyone been inside one of these? I can't find much information or replacement parts other than peripheral stuff.
 
Well if I put 12v direct to the signal wire I hear a clunk and the wires start smoking. So... Ordered a new one. Those jokers aren't cheap either
