Got a '97 Kia 2.0 DOHC I'm fixing for my wife.. PO overheated and warped the seats a little (.001 - .003).. I got the valves to seal again by lapping them in (yeahhh.. probably should've dropped it off at a machine shop but the last one was $250)
Question is: I cannot find clearance spec for the valves with the hydraulic lash adjusters. I know the adjusters/lifters only take up so much, and I know the valves must have some clearance (with lifters not built up) or they will hang open.. So, if someone has built one, what clearance should I shoot for? .012? .006? It's actually a Mazda motor, but it seems those mazda guys are always just trying for more HP so its all hi-performance done, and farmed out for valves.
any help is appreciated
