Hydro assist steering box caps

I am looking at going to hydro assist on my k5 before too long. I have seen several vendors that have a "front" cap (the round one) for a 2wd steering box, but I have yet to find a vendor with a top cap. I would just as soon not tap my own because if I screw something up then I am up a creek. If there is no other way then I will do that, but I would prefer a nicer, thicker, replacement cap.

Anyone know of someone who sells these?

I'll sell you the steering box i took off my truck when i went to full hydraulic. Tapped and ready to go pm me if interested

It's easy to drill and tap it. If you do mess it up, the 4wd cap will fit as well.

i tried a 4wd cap on the end of a 2wd box and it leaked like crazy. Had me puzzled because it sure looks like they are the same

I drilled and tapped a few of them at school a few weeks back. You'll need a 9/16ths drill bit and a 3/8-18 NPT tap. It's that easy.

Ok, good deal. I might try and tap it myself. Alternatively, does anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area want to tap my steering box nicely on the side like they do at WTO? Let me know how much you would charge me.

Thanks!
