Cruising down 24/27 in the ramp truck with the jeep loaded on the back heading to Uwharrie this morning. About 30 minutes into the trip the truck starts shaking and I hear what sounds like I have blown a back tire. Pull over and discover this.

Only 1 stud away from disaster.

Chevy ramp truck with big ass jeep on it? If so I seen you on my way to Charlotte and on my way back. That was close to being real bad.

The consequences of loose lug nuts can wreck some shit, that's for sure. Once studs lose their preload under cyclic load it's only matter of time before they fail and then shift load to the other studs.

I saw a late 90s/early 2000s Dakota on the side of the highway today with a driveshaft that decided to break clean in the middle. That also could have turned out pretty bad, but it looked like he got lucky and didn't take much damage other than the driveshaft itself.

Glad you pulled over when you did!

Hahahaha this one was also on that page...

Had that happen to me in an old C10 going down I40 in Raleigh. One minute, I was riding fine, the next, I was leaning hard to the passenger side as I watched my tire pass me. Was somehow able to get it to the shoulder and had AAA tow me to my destination. The nice thing was, someone who saw the whole thing decided it wasn't an issue and helped themselves to a "free" tire
