I sold my 98 XJ back earlier this year after I had bought an 02 overland with a blown motor. I got the Overland put back together and has been my daily driver for a few months now, but haven't really been happy. The overland is an incredibly nice jeep, and is extremely comfortable and nice, but just isn't me. I've been toying around with the idea of picking up another XJ lately, and have been watching the classifieds on here as well as craigslist. I finally stumbled across a XJ Wednesday on craigslist that met my standards and then some. I went and test drove it and ended up buying it the same day.

It's a 99 XJ Sport. It's just a regular XJ, no special options or anything particularly eye catching except for the fact that it was owned by an 85 year old man that just recently died and left it to his nephew. It's a one owner, garage-kept jeep with 31K original miles. You read that right, 31K MILES!!! The jeep is absolutely perfect inside and out. Not a single stain, not a single door ding. The only issue with it is a missing center cap on one of the wheels.

I can't wait to sell the Overland and start working on this beauty. Tell me what you guys think!

What could there possibly be to work on?

I'm not going to do a ton to this jeep. It's too nice to mess up, but I'm planning an old man emu lift and 245/75's on a set of moabs. Other than that, new speakers in the front doors and a nice headunit.

Wow that is probably the nicest XJ in the country.

wow, never thought I'd see one with under 100k on it anymore. hell, even under 50k wich I didn't think was possible. and I thought my 04 wrangler with 66k miles was low mileage. nice barn find. how does it look under the valve cover?

I haven't taken the valve cover off. Its completely dry everywhere, though. Runs incredibly smooth, you open the hood when its warm, and you smell zero oil or fluids. Smells like a new car. The jeep was driven at least weekly up until the last year, but evidently the old man just really never drove very far. You can definitely feel where he accelerated, and it was very easy. I'm going to ease this one into DD status. I wont beat on it and rev it up high anytime soon. I don't normally drive like that anyways, but i especially won't with this one.
