I was cleaning my keyboard on my laptop and broke the "A" key! Hooked a string of a microfiber towel and pow! I have a Gateway and where or can this be fixed? And yes it is broke on the backside with the little gizmos that is designed by Rube Goldberg!

On a serious note...... drop it by my office. I'll see if i can get it back together for you. if its not broken i can probably get it snapped back in. i'll PM and address. We are a copier dealership but id rather you bring it to me first and maybe i can get it snapped back in for free, rather than you paying someone an hours labor for 5 seconds of work.

Damn, old man, when I first saw the title of that thread I thought you fell down and busted your ass... a bad thing for old folks. :D

"Hooked a string of a microfiber towel and pow!" was this while driving the RV down the interstate too?

Seems I only got one responce! Thank you Reid!

keyboards are easy to replace on laptops. Not sure of the cost, but they are usually easy to replace; seen the HP tech do it to several of mine multiple times :D

holy crap, I know what ya mean about Rube Goldberg. My 2-3 year old kid picked a few keys off our old laptop. I was able to reassemble all but one, it sucked. I was able to google the laptop model number and found a replacement keyboard and instructions. It didnt look terribly hard, just needed the mini rube goldberg screwdriver set. The keyboard was over $50 IIRC, a little more than I wanted to spend. We just made do with pressing the rubber knubby for the T. I have to admit, a few times I couldnt get it to type, I had to copy/paste the letter T from old email.

It's a Gateway MX8738, Yes I know it's got a few miles on her.

Terry brought his computer by the shop today. I thought i'd be able to help him, nothing i could do though. Got a picture of us working on it though.

I don't know. I don't ever tend to use words which use the letter in question. Possibly I should switch computers with YHDG?
WOW, I'm impressed! Kiser tht's pretty cool!

No matter how hard Reid tried......he could not see the porn without his bifocal contacts!

Ok, I'll get on this and see what I can come up with. I would understand if it had been the Escape key!
