so i know gas prices are high...

but why do i see tons of post in the for sale threads asking "what kind of gas mileage does this get?"

i mean...this is a 4x4 forum...and most of the time these post are in threads advertising something on 35" tires.

take an educated guess maybe??

or if you are looking for something with good gas mileage...go to a front wheel drive forum?

Personally I need a vehicle with at least 6 seats. Just because my needs or maybe wants says I have a bigger vehicle does not imply I have money to waste on a 5MPG truck. After many deifferent mods mileage can change drastically for the good or the bad. Just my .02 I love my hobby and my offroad toy is offroad only. Some folks use thier 4WD's as daily drivers as well as a trail rig.

Agreed with Fatty Packard, I wouldn't go to a really nice restaurant and ask how much their Surf & Turf plate is. If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be there.

well....it may be the difference between wheeling a blazer and a tracker.

I know personally.....i'm on a tracker budget!

MPG is important to most I would think, but maybe not so much it you have a trailer Queen.

my main thing is how far can I go on a tank not how much it costs

i mean of course its important. i count my pennies to pay for gas.

my point was, MOST vehicles on here for sale probably dont get great MPGs....and if you use your brain you can PROBABLY take a guess close to what the rig gets.

so if your decision on a rig is made between something that gets 13 mpgs or 16 mpgs...then you should probably just stick with a honda.

I agree Fatty. I have 35's and never even considered the gas mileage. I knew it would be crappy. Hell a honda sounds crappy with 40mpg the way gas is these days. Either way you need to take out a mortgage at the pump!

possibly a budget question?

I mean if a rig I want gets 10 MPG, compared to one I want that gets 15, I can budget more money to go to the 15 one for new stuff, since I'll be paying less for gas in the long run..
