After clearing around the pond at the new place, and getting grass going, Geese have naturally found the pond. Had 3 of them stick around for about a week, then a couple more joined. Tried harrassment by walking up at them, chunking rocks nearby, etc....it just annoyed them, and they'd go to the far end of the pond.
Looked online for cures. Most of the decoy/predator clones only work a little while (swan pair, alligator head, coyote, etc) before the geese figure out they are just plastic.
Then, I read about green lasers. For some reason, geese are terrified of a green laser dot. I got on ebay and bought the brightest chi-com green laser I could find, only about 25 bucks. It makes a visible dot on the ground from a couple hundred feet away in broad daylight. Point it on the ground near the geese, and slowly work up to them....they'll squawk and paddle/fly down a ways....follow them, and they'll take off flying towards the opposite side....have the green dot waiting for them there, and they'll circle, then fly off to another pond.
(Red lasers won't work, is what I read...only green).
If you have a problem with geese, give this a shot...works for me.
