Its a real nice truck, 85k miles on it and very clean! Its air bagged and has a goose neck hitch. XLT trim with power everything

Whats the best tuner? I plan on mostly towing with this truck with some daily driving. I do not plan on bigger exhaust or different intakes etc.

Thanks

Leave it stock if you don't plan on a bigger exhaust or intake. You won't get the full potential out of a tuner unless you allow a 7.3 to breathe better on both ends.

If you are open to doing a few more mods: BHAF or an AFE Intake, Put a wicked wheel in the turbo to help with surge issues that come up with the stock wheel and more airflow, Any 4" turbo-back exhaust. As for the tuner. I was more than happy with my Power Hungry Performance chip. Its just a TS Performance 6 position chip with different tunes. Ran much better than the stock TS Performance one I had on there before.

Chris nailed it. There are a lot of tuners out there for 7.3s, but do your research first. Some are killers. If you do an intake, avoid K&N at all costs. AFE makes the best cold air intake with great filtration. Can't beat MBRP should you decide to upgrade the exhaust.
If you add a tune without upgrading both intake and exhaust, you will run the risk of your EGTs running higher than with those upgrades. A tune alone can cause this, but more air in and out will help alleviate EGT issues.

:burnout:Power Hungry Performance or Swamp Diesel for a tuner
napa 6637 air filter mod
& new 4" turbo back exhaust
& you will be happy with the power of the truck ( for a little while LOL )

Its just like your trail rig! The more you do the more changes you want to make!!! Lol !!! I love my TS with the Tony wildman tunes! I think either you need to leave it stock or do all the above already mentioned. It is really not that expensive, tuner is a bit , but 4" exhaust is around $200 intake(Napa) $40 wicked wheel $100 all DIY and very easy!!

Thanks guys! Can someone give me a link to the Napa air filter mod? It will get the intake and exhaust changed just for the lower EGT benefit.

You need a tube to adapt it, in that tube you need to mount the air temp. sensor. I removed the airbox & mine just sits there.

Pic's? hell I may as well do it for you. pretty simple really..:flipoff2:

If you get a 4" exhaust then you should have a small piece of pipe left over ( you don't want that much hanging out for the tail pipe) all you need a about 3-4" long piece. I will load a pic in a min

Here ya go

I added a back-up cam and swapped the old Voyager controller for my Prodigy P2. I also replaced the two front tires with two new Goodyear Wrangler Armortracs.

Pics from the day I bought it;

I'm getting ready to order the riffraff filter but they want to know if its an early 99 or a late 99? How do i tell?

EDIT; I found it, it has a 4/99 build date on the door jamb sticker

The small connector pipe from filter to intake tube will have to be a 45 angle instead of strait.
