Some of you who know me, know I am trying to get my disability. One of (many) debilitating things I have to deal with on a daily basis, is my hands and fingers. Because of the numbness, arthritis, and nerve damage I just don't have a lot of grip or dexterity in my hands. The last few times I have had to use my grease gun, I have had to have help. Someone to pump the gun while I had to hold it on the zerk fitting (yes, a cheap HF grease gun) A while back, maybe even a year ago, my good friend @BigSouth came up to use my lift and do some maintenance on his lil Blazer. He brought with him his Dewalt 18V grease gun. Needless to say, I fell in love with it. I search often (even though I didn't really have funds for it) one on FBMP, Well yesterday, I found one. And with the help of a friend, I was able to get one. The new price of these are nearly $300, Thus one was used, he posted it for $150, I offered $100, he came back with $135, and I responded that I just didn't have that much, and this morning he responded on that he would take the $100 offer. He was in the middle of a move, and had sold some stuff including his tractor with a back hoe and a front end loader. WHich is what he used the grease gun for, so, he didn't have the tractor, so no need for the gun. He also give me several tubes of grease with it also. I am tickled to death to get this. Now, maybe I can grease things by myself. Sometime in the future when I can afford it, I want to get one of those fancy couplers that has the lever holder that you press to put it on the zerk, and press to take it off, without it leaking out the side like my cheap one does. As well as easy on, easy off, as I sometimes have issues with getting it off
once I get it on. Anyway, thought I'd share. Oh and it's a 20v, so matches all my other Dewalt tools

Hopefully the Dewalt one has a better tip than your old one and you won't need the lock n lube. My Milwaukee one works well with the tip that comes with it.

Boss man bought a brand new Milwaukee grease gun. I saw the skidsteer guy get it out today, from the new bag. I was leaving, so I didn't stick around to look it over. We've had one of some sort, but the batteries were always dead! lol

Update:
First thing I did was cleaned it up. Put the case in my parts washer (diesel fuel) got it cleaned up real good. The diesel broke down the grease places, corners and such pretty good. I then washed it all up with awesome cleaner, Inside looked brand new, outside nice and clean just scratches from normal use. Then I used a diesel rag on the gun and cleaned it up pretty good, then finished it off with some awesome cleaner. Pretty happy with how it looked. First use. Jeep was in the shop So I used one of my office chairs and rolled up under the front to try it on the tops of my King pins. First side I put the coupler on the top zerk, and in short order, saw grease coming out, So I stopped and cleaned up the excess. Side two, I pumped some then tone changed. It was out of grease. So I had to change tubes. That's when I realized the grease was of good quality stuff. Lucus Red and Tacky. Got it changed, bled the air out of it, back to the upper Kingpin of opposite side pumped a good bit so I was thinking WOW, When I thought I had been greasing it, maybe I wasn't. I kept watching for grease to come out, (Where I could see some where the grease had come out before) And then I re positioned and I could see about a half a cup full of grease on the opposite side of where I had focused my watching. My bad. So Clean up on isle 2!
So next project
I have noticed for quiet some time that my main bay door was difficult to go up and down. Took a lot more grunting than it should. So I raised it all the way up and positioned a ladder so I could get all the way to the top (10' doors) I had a needle attachment I don't think I had ever used but maybe once or twice. So I greased the track a little and spread it out with a $.79 paint brush. Worked the door up and down a few times, It helped, but still tough. I went back up thinking there may be a grease fitting up top, There wasn't There was just a plastic fitting that rotated around what looks like a piece of conduit. There was one small opening at the bottom of that fitting, so I used the needle again and put some grease in it. Worked door up and down and you could see the grease get spread around. Pretty noticeable difference on how it was easier to go up and down. So I then repeated the same process on the other side. Wow, what a difference. it now goes up and down with ease!
So in a nutshell, I and happy with what it's been able to do so far. I did notice it leaked some where it couples, unless it's straight on the Zerk, So yes, I will at some point be getting me one of those Lock n Lube couplers for the gun. Over all, using this new gun vs the old pump style. Game changer. Love it, and happy I got it.

We have a couple at the shop where I work. When it’s time to get my semi serviced the Milwaukee is a game changer because between the tractor and dump wagon there’s about 100 fittings. Also, doing all the points on the airbrake parts you have to be shinnied all up under the drive axles and trailer axles so I can’t imagine using a hand pump style. Ours have extended hoses too so you can reach the hose up in somewhere and have the “gun” down on the ground so you’re not holding the whole setup the whole time.

An extended hose would be nice, but, for no more that I need it, I can deal with it. It did come with a shoulder strap.

You will find that now that you have the awesomeness of a powered grease gun, you will also go through grease at an astonishing rate…I.E. the damn thing will almost always be empty when you need it most…

So buy a case of grease and keep on keepin on !

While greasing up my lube points on my shop roll up bay door ( I call it lube points because that's where it moves, not fittings though) I did notice that the trigger is variable speed. So while greasing contact points, made it a lot easier to control how much was coming out.

As others have noted, due to the size/length of the Lock-N-Lube, there are several scenarios that it will not fit 🙄
And while it's not a "zerk buster", the added clamping force did a really nice job on a couple of previously stuck/clogged zerks 🥸

I don't own a tractor, and nothing else I have or have messed with, doesn't have any recessed fittings. I am however gonna get the longer lock n lube coupler. $10 more, but I'd rather have and not need it, than need it and not have it.
