I have a wall I need removed...

It really wouldn't be a hard job.
First you would need to remove all the furniture. probably hang some plastic to shield the dust.
Start by removing all of the trim. Molding top and bottom, door casing, and start with a pry bar taking down all the wall facings. The bigger the piece you take down the easier to haul it out. if you wired it, when you are left with only studs showing is when you will want to "unwire" it.
Now comes the hardest part. Filling in the gap between the two rooms in the floor. Have a saw waiting to start cutting.
T get it ready for kids Monday morning is feasible, but stay away from the beer, and have someone to help that will work not talk.

Those ceiling tiles look to be asbestos. Be careful especially with kids spending time in the room during phases of remodeling. Do not disturb the tiles and you should be fine.
I am not intending on doing anything with the tiles so they would not prove a problem in any case. Just for the record, the tiles were installed by my grandfather about a decade ago give or take. When we did the addition I had to pull the same tiles down from another room. They were checked and found to be a cardboard like product.
