Thanks!
you know, one of the best things about being in the army is my job. Im a mechanic, which means not only do i get to consistantly learn more about mechanics, and things that help mechanics like welding and stuff, but i get to drive some pretty cool vehicles. I just came back from a course where i got to drive one of the newer vehicles in the army, the MRAP. not too bad, and some of them have a lot of power. then there is the HMMWV. those are fun too. did you know that a military HMMWV is capable of over 10,000 lb/ft of torque at the wheel?
being deployed has its benifits too, like you get away with more when it comes to fixing and working on vehicles. for example, we took an older hmmwv, with a smaller engine than the newer ones, and less beefy suspension and put all the new stuff on it. the older hmmwv with out any armor had weaker suspension and a smaller engine, no turbo. we took that body and put the new suspension with the new bigger engine with a turbo on it. not only did the suspension lift it about 3 inches but the engine made a huge differance in the power. it was awesome!
