I need a new computer. Please advise.

This home computer is at the point where it's spent. I have a DSLR camera and take huge photos along with GoPro footage and other stuff so I need a lot storage. I also really like to make videos but I haven't lately because the computer sucks and it literally take forever. Can anyone recommend a good one? Is Windows 8 the new norm? Is it worth a damn?

If storage is your key driver, you can get just about any computer and get a portable external hard drive. Costco has some 2 TB drives for about $100 and I think they have a 4 TB desktop model for $150.

Just don't expect performance from a USB2 external drive. Needs to be ethernet or USB3.

I think most available today are USB3 or NAS capable

OK, so I need it to be USB3 capable. Thanks. Any specific processor I need to stay away from. I had an HP with an Athalon in it.
