I love my HTC incredible2 but it has been giving me a lot of problems with service lately. Took ot to Verizon and they just shake their heads and tell me its too old (2010). So I'm I'm the market. I don't Facebook or any other social media, just here and a couple other forums, pics and phone calls. I like Verizon service, thought about straighttalk but think the phone choices suck and are too expensive. I like the Samsung s3 but read a lot about cracked lcd, and kyroceta brigidere is nice but read poor reception. My main concern OS the reception , I'll buy another Otter box. Tell me what you have and what you hate.

BTW, fu@k an iPhone.

I have an S4 Mini through Verizon. Love it, but only after I turned off and disabled all unnecessary junk. Battery lasts 3+ days with normal use (light on data and BlueTooth). It is my first "modern" smartphone, I bought this one for the small form factor (about the size of an iPhone 5) and battery life.

If you plan to stay with Verizon, sign a 2 year contract and get an LG G2 or Motorola Droid Maxx for free. Both are great phones. The Motorola is a little more durable and is supposed to have slightly better reception, but the LG is a little more advanced in the tech department. I was trying to make this decision a month or two ago, and ended up getting the LG G2 because it had an infrared transmitter (controls TV/Bluray when the wife has the remotes on the other side of the living room and I don't want to get up) and it came with an LG 8.3" table for $75, which we had been wanting to get anyway. Were it not for the tablet, I probably would have gotten the Motorola Droid Maxx. Both have outstanding battery life and work smoothly.

Galaxy s5 and your done. water resistant, shock resistant. Great camera, has the bigger screen that takes a little getting used to but I like it much better than the HTC incredible I had. Otter box for $30 on ebay. Fully charges in about an hour. Battery last all day plus some..

Droid RAZR HD here. Huge screen and awesome camera. My mom works at Verizon as a senior service rep and gets refurb phones and tablets by the box load to take home and sort through. Shell drop by to hook me up and at $15-40 cost, I've had countless. Can't even remember the names of half of them. This one for some reason is my newest favorite.

I switched from Verizon to straighttalk about a year ago and have no regrets. At first I was having call quality issues with international calling, but that seems to be much better now. I'm not a huge phone tech guy, so I just bought a used Iphone 4. Also saved me over $100 per month for 2 lines.

What was so bad about an iphone? I see friends with the same iphone while other people can't manage to hold onto a motorola or a htc for more than a year or two. I still have a iphone 4s that works like when I got it four years ago. I bet you can get a 4s for cheap or even the 5c for cheap as well I have verizon service and have only dropped a call once on 220 in Virginia. Just my input

It's free with a contract

I feel the same way

Another vote for an iPhone. I'm not super tech savvy, I use mine as a phone, camera and to look at forums, etc. I've had a 4s and now this 5s and I only got the 5s cause we switched from Sprint to Verizon. No issues ever with my iPhones. Bet you can get a deal on a 5c now that everyone wants the new 6.

Have one and love it. With the otter box also.

Just don't get the blue otter box. Mine is getting grungy. You can't see the dirt on the black ones.

I hate having to go thru itunes for everything from transferring pics and music. Apple will give me a free phone thru FD, they have given us all new computers and ipads and all kinds of tech junk. Everything just seems to be a PITA. Hell they built us a free station and couldn't get that right either!

Just transfer pics through the photobucket app. It is pretty simple. And iTunes can be a pain but if you put the setting to manage music manually it is as simple as drag and drop. Spend a little time researching stuff like that and I am pretty sure any one can manage an iphone. People just lose their cool when they forget their itunes password and have to spend half a day on the phone waiting for a technical person from apple.

Clearly, you have no idea what you're talking about. The iPhone is the easiest to use, most intuitive device ever created by man. The idea that you'd need to do internet research or call technical support (LOL!!) is ridiculous.

I know how to use an iphone. I use a mac book pro, my phone, and apple tv daily. Sometime new updates throw things out of whack and music disappears, my calendar no longer syncs with my laptop, my school email gets erased from my phone, etc. On the spot it is easy just to look up those things on the internet and see what other people are doing to solve similar problems instead of waiting for apple to come out with a new update to fix other problems. Some poeple use their iphones for more than just games and tapatalk....

I thought the infallible Apple had no problems o_O

It looks like we might have to start handing out vacations to people that insist on speaking badly of Apple.

On a related note, a coworker asked me today if I had updated to iOS 8. He said his 12yo son updated his phone last night and started getting the emails and texts intended for his 18 and 20 yo sisters' accounts.

Security!

Well I finally broke down and bought a new Motorola droid maxx. I haven't figured all of the features out yet but the larger screen is nice. This phone also has swipe which my last one didn't.
