I need a pole barn type building, concrete floor, approx 48x60 insulated, wired, doors, everything. Anyone know of a builder / company local to the wake or johnston county area? I contacted morton buildings and they quoted around $50K for a 36 x 48, which is pretty steep for a metal sided building.

If you dont need it in a hurry Id say get a set of plans and build it yourself. The barn we're building right now was going to cost 18,000 dollars. But even with us hiring 5 guys to help us it only cost 5,000. Pole barns are fairly simple too, if you end up doing it yourself get new poles. We used old power poles for our first one and they are all crooked and hard to work with.

Contact a company called Mid State Metals, truck shop I used to work in was $27500 turnkey with 6 inches of concrete 40 x 60 - 16 ft doors - this was about 5 years ago - sure its a little more now. I'm pretty sure they will travel to Raleigh. Sounds close to what you are looking for.

The brother in law just bough one of the igloo looking buildings for 6K from someone - it is 30 x 50 - we will tackle that one in the spring - I heard they are a PITA to put up...

Ceco out of Rock Mount sells pre-engineered building kits. Use them to create your own package with whatever you need.

Use the plans they have to get the building permit. Dig and set the footer/slab (or get a contractor to do it). After a couple of days, start hanging steel (or get a contractor to do it). Wire in electricity and you're done. Those buildings go up really quick with a good crew that knows how to do them.

They are not really that bad, if you go about it the right way.
I have helped and it went pretty smooth. Tips...
have plenty of help, tall ladders, or scaffolds, several cordless dills to use a drivers, and watch the direction vid many times.
