ok guys this is about to drive me insane, and im about to sell my jeep i need to get it fixed, it shouldnt take long at all, as the majority of it is tuning... it all stems from a carb problem
(joel and i met up a while back and got the carb "baddog?" i think had given me as a core) it still hasnt ran since then...
ok, so i wanted to do the carter bbd -> MC2100 swap. so i got the carb. bolted everything up, got the linkage fixed, used to be up down, now front to back IIRC. and i cranked it up, i see smoke from under the hood. so i realize the electric choke wire was exposed and melting. i didnt hook it up because the mc2100 dosent have the same type of clip. i was wondering why it idled at 2k for so long, so i got on the forums, everyone said the best (not easiest) is install a manual choke, so i have more controll over it. so i go buy a 10 manual choke, and now im stuck. i cant figure out how to get the choke tang to catch the new gear i have. everytime the jeep cuts off it diesels because of all the gas being dumped. id also like to rip out all the stuff emissions etc.. that i dont need. get wires and hoses out of there
all i need is someone to install a manual choke for me, and mess with my idle adjustment if need be, just get the thing running right. someone who has done the mc2100 on a YJ before or someone who is VERY fluent in carbureators could probably fix all my problems in 20-30 mins. i just dont know what im doing when it comes to the carb. ANYONE who can help me, please let me know. WHENEVER you can help me is fine too just let me know, FWIW ill fill someones tank up, for coming out here, or just give them 50 bucks. whichever. im located in south winston salem.
gotta brand new carb sittin on a great motor, just need things to be tweeked so i can get this baby back out and on the road, and ready to sell.
thanks for anyones help.
