My 92 toyota is having trouble going into gear. i start out it shifts fine once it runs for a while if i try to down shift it won't go into gear and the clutch pedal loses pressure.once the truck is completely stopped it try to go into first gear it won't go.i can turn the truck off and wait a minute and after a while it will go into gear. anyone have an idea what it might be????????????????????

I suspect your clutch master cylinder is going/gone bad being that your pedal is losing pressure. The whole assembly should be less than $50 at your local parts store. I'd start there. Maybe someone else has some other ideas.

I'd either agree with Chris or say it's your clutch. had a Toyota that did that to me and the throw out bearing ended up going through the pressure plate. first time I'd ever seen/experienced that before. put a new clutch in it and it was good to go! took me about half a Saturday to tear it down, get it all cleaned up, and put it back together.

i need help

well this morning i got out and drone it again it done fine for a mile or 2 and then the pedal lost pressure and so i pumped the clutch 3or4 times and then pressure came back for a little bit. When the pedal has pressure it shifts great. i'm just trying to give y'all all the details.

master cylinder.....It's cheap/ I'd change it and then bleed the system. I bet thne yor problems will be resolved

also i checked the fluid in the master cylinder and it looks black.

Definitely a problem with the master cylinder. To bleed the system, locate the slave cylinder and there should be a bleeder screw similar to the what you would see when bleeding your brakes. Have a buddy pump your clutch 4-5 times and hold it down. Then open the bleeder screw. Close the screw once fluid stops coming out and then repeat. Repeat this until you don't see any more air. Be sure to fill the clutch master cylinder with fluid so you don't suck air back in.

Hopefully the bleeding will fix the problem. If not then replace the master cylinder.
