I ordered something from McMaster Carr yesterday...

...and it DIDN'T show up today! :eek:

I'm not bitching in any way. I placed the order online with just ground shipping. I've just become accustomed to orders surprising me the next day. I guess that's the difference between ordering by phone and ordering online. Even orders I've placed after 5:00 show up next day. I love that place.
 
When we first got Amazon Prime, we were shocked to find that 95% of what we ordered w/ free 2 day shipping came the next day, coming from a center a few hours up in PA.
Then last year they opened a distro center in Baltimore, just ~35 mins down the road.
Now it always takes 2 days, and we get the joy of paying state sales tax. Jackasses.
 
Does McMaster Carr only have one location or do they have other warehouses across the country?
 
They have multiple. Jersey, Chicago, Atlanta mostly. UPS is pretty backed up right now clearing the holiday backlog from what I've heard, so that might have something to do with it.

I'm not worried. I opted for ground shipping. If it doesn't show up until Monday, I won't be angry! Even overnight shipping is questionable these days. We had a fedex guy tell us one time after an overnight package didn't get to the customer the next day that "Overnight means two days now." Really?

McMaster still gets my business. I don't know if the difference was that I placed the order online vs. calling in like I usually do.
