If you've been within a mile of facebook lately, you're probably overly aware of the "ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS". Maybe I'm just not in the loop, but it looks very much like a social experiment to see what internet peer pressure can do to people. Of course the good outcome is that it raises money for ALS, but it also provides us with entertainment. For your viewing pleasure:

There's more here, but ^those were the best in my opinion: http://www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/just-donate-the-money?bffb

LMAO, some people need to get their ass to the gym.

I was within a mile of the face book plant last week, but did not see any buckets anywhere?

I used to give to charities. Always thought United Way was a good one. Then I found out about the multi million dollar severance package the Charlotte UW pres had written for herself. Just for this reason, I will not donate to large charity groups anymore. I think its like 70 cent from every dollar goes to admin cost.

If you want to help, donate to local causes. I give every year to my local animal shelter and childrens homes. I feel that the lil money I can afford to give does a better job there. Billions of dollars are already being pumped into cancer, ALS, Parkinsons, and other diseases by the pharm companies. So I dont feel bad when saying "I'm not giving to them".

wifey always has me donate whatever I was going to spend on her and she donates whatever she was going to spend on adults Christmas (can't not get the kiddies stuff)to our local council for the aging and the local battered womens home. I really think she is the Yen to my Yang. LOL!!

These social media fads rub me the wrong way. Unless your family was touched by the "disease of the week", the vast majority of people don't think or give two shits about these charities until it becomes some "cool" thing to do on social media. Its not raising awareness IMO because two weeks from now when Disease of the Week is something different, you'll forget about that bucket of water or whatever you dumped it over yourself for in order to not give to a charity. I have donated to charities and put in countless hours of volunteer work over the years with organizations because I felt compelled to, not because someone called me out on a social media outlet. This is just how it should be IMO and its how I was raised, to give back to the community and help those less fortunate because you want to, not because its a social media fad of the week. /end rant

LOL. How can you NOT lift a bucket of ice water lol. They should have done a hot sauce challenge instead if they couldn't do it lol

I see your fails and raise you Scalding Hot Soup Challenge..........Honestly I think he switches it out when he crosses the fence, but IDK would be insane if not.

I might have a different view than the herd on this one...

I say if everyone that jumps in cold water or dumps a bucket of ice on their head ACTUALLY donates money to ''charity of the week'' That is a GREAT thing!

If having a video of getting ice dumped on your head somehow COMPELLED you to donate...Great! I hope more stuff like this happens.

My opinion is ...go for it! If a little free internet fame can make a non donor become a donor....Awesome!

The free world can choose to click and watch or not...so go for it.

It's all about awareness.

If you are not actually donating any money along with your challenge video..then, I don't get the point. (although it still creates awareness)

I am telling you, the 50 cent one is the absolute best... Followed closely by the Charlie Sheen one.
The fails are funny, but hard to top celebrities being pricks.

Wow, I have to agree. That was great! Especially the ASL/ELS part, hehehe.
