i think i screwed something up

having more issues. the steering colum is loose on the xj. i tried to take it off today with no luck. i bought the puller but i must not have used it right.anyway when i put it all back. the key swith was all jambed up. i couldnt get it turned far enough back to get the key out.after fighting the piss out of it it came out. and on top of that .i was already having trouble with the switch working.sometimes it would start fine. otheres i would have to bump the starter.would i be better off getting a new colum all togeather? that way more than ive tried to do also. would i be able to? i wouldnt pass up some help either. lol

I don't get a whole lot of time off from work but when I can get some time I'll come up and give you a hand and some pointers on the XJ. I know them pretty well inside and out.

Your better off to replace the whole deal. A used colum will be cheaper than a swith. Its a easy swap out also. If you need quick info check out www.naxja.org its the webster of sources on xjs.

well i got the switch issue taken care of. but still wont start with it.

It may not be the switch. It might be the relay in the fuse/relay block under the hood.

ok ill check that out. i did notice one getting pretty warm in the fuse box.
