I want to run 35/36's on my chevy....how?

I want to run 35 or 36" tires on my 86 chevy. Right now it has a 2 inch suspension lift with 33's.
How much lift would I need, would a 4" be enough or would i need a 6"?

or i could do a 3" body with the suspension I already have


with a suspension lift, how high can I go before i have to worry about getting a slip yoke eliminator and a new drive shaft.

are you talking about a k10 or 5?
4" will get you by for 35s if thats what your talking about.

4" should be minimum, fine for street, may get some rubbing with 35s if you flex or turn extremely sharp. I have a 8" and I rubbed some with 35s when flex/turn

4 and 35's will rub, just trim the wheel wells a little and you'll be fine.

i've seen 38's run a 4 inch lift/no body without rubbing just depends on how much you like your sheet metal

yes its a K10 shortbed

I like my sheet metal, so i'm not quite ready to bust out the saw. so should I get a 4 or 6 inch?

Someone told me that a body lift for it is bad because it will flex the body too much....that true?

I'd go with the 6"

I ran 35's and 36's later on my 75 k-10 with very minor trimming for the 36's to keep from rubbing.

I'm working on building up my k5 and plans are to go with about 4" and liberal fender trimming to run some 37"s or so.

with 4" lift 35's will clear if you cut rear of front fender about 1"
