my 4Runner had a 2" list to the right side and felt like it was doing the hula over some road conditions.......

mis matched coils wouldn't do that...... and one strut an inch taller than the other ?
One piece at a time.....

I was gonna say because you were in the passenger seat. :flipoff2:

Didn't matter which side I was on, it still had a list to it.

I'd always suspected it was mis-matched struts/springs, but wasn't ready to deal with it until now.

Missed a deal on a spring/strut set up on here a few weeks ago ( dammit ) ended up ordering stock replacement package deal from Amazon. $189 for the pair assembled and shipped. I couldn't build one side from after market parts for much less than $140 ( strut, spring, strut mount ) and not have down time involved.

I'd replaced the rear coils last summer ( $55 shipped for the pair new Moog ) and added air bags to help with hauling the camper. was sitting tail high unloaded even with minimal air in the bags.

gotta love having Limited springs in an SR5, gave me 2" of lift over stock ( yeah, it'll probably settle, but so what )

Sits level now, front to rear and side to side. even with me in it :flipoff2:

Ride a whole bunch better too.

at least the head lights won't be pointed at the ground right in front of the truck anymore......

When I first got my 4runner it felt like it was doing the hula too. I've just attributed it to the rear suspension moving sideways as it compresses because it's a 5 link.

it still has the motion, but not near as bad, and yeah, I was attributing it to the rear suspension as well.

much better now

Do you suppose one of those is a 2wd and one a 4wd? Mine is 2wd and it seems to sit lower than a 4wd of the same (or close) year.

that is entirely possible, they use the same suspension and hub, just no half shaft

when I was looking for rear springs, it seems there is about 5 different options depending on how the vehicle is optioned ( AC, Manual or auto, V6 4cyl, 15 or 16" wheels, and any combination of ) mine is SR5 15" wheel, Manual trans w/AC ( up fitted with 16" '02 Runner wheels )

I got the constant rate springs for a V6, 4wd, Auto with AC and 16" wheels. gave me 2"of lift over all and it now sits level. rear coils are stupid cheap @ $40 for the pair, fronts are as well, but it was easier and cheaper in the end ( time and $$$ ) to get loaded struts.

When I'm ready to beat this one on the trail, it'll get Cruiser coils and SAS
