Found this under my dryer, not sure if it's part of the dryer or something that just ended up under there. Wife says the dryer works fine. Both washer and dryer are front load, bought new around 2005. Any guesses what this bracket is? I have no idea...

Oh man. You are screwed. That dryer is a time bomb now.

Actually, That looks like the bearing brace from a Turbo Encabulator, Does your dryer have a Chrysler transmission in it?

Seriously though, try going to partsdirect.com, Put in the dryer model number, and look through some of the diagrams to see if you can find that thing...

Looking at the pegs and slots on it, it should reattach pretty easily if you feel like putting it back where it goes. Probably just vibrated loose.

Geez guy he just needs to know what it is!! Not a bunch of jokes!..... anyway as a licensed repair man I can tell you 100% that is the Flux Capacitor, it produces the 1.21 jigawatts that is required for the final spin! It take it to 88mph. I would call lowes and order one!!..............:D

This seems like a teachable moment for your son!
Tell him to figure out where it goes!

Som body might have a case of Flux, but seriously, it does look like some vibration control or lint stopper thingy! I've got front loaders, & had to remove all the supports/ braces, that were installed for shipping, but Nothing looking like that. Zuks got a good idea> parts manual.
