Head shape looks venomous. Or I would say it is a king snake

The body size and shape say venomous along with the head unless that’s just the angle of the picture. Markings look like a variation of a Black Rat Snake somewhat.

Photo a buddy sent me so I'm not able to check butt scales, pupils or get more photos. It's by his house. More I look at it the more I think it is a water snake.

I wanna say copperhead just a really dark color variation but something about its tail structure throws me off, id kill it just to be safe.
Black snakes can hangout anything that looks like it’s possibly poisonous is going to take a dirt nap

99% sure it's a cotton mouth. The head shape and fat body give it away. Plus the coloring goes blacker towards the tail.
