Bent another tie rod end, yeah replacement is free from Autozoo but this is getting old.
I've read about upgrading to FJ80 TREs - but what about the main shaft/coupler for stock IFS steering? Seems the "upgrade" tie rods are for hi-steer setups, etc.
From what I can gather I just need something (well, 2) that is like 6" long (that's guess w/o measuring), but can't find anybody that sells this. Am I missing something?
The "rods" that are on there aren't even a solid tube, but a 4" long collar with a slit down the middle. I'm surprised the ends bend before that does.

Just curious, how in the world do you keep bending tie rod ends?:driver:

Last time happened at the 4x4Cross. No shocker there.
Before that (I think) was at Rausch Creek, before that at Uwharrie.

Not like super huge He-Man bends, just a slight kink in it, enough the threads don't work.

Between balljoint spacers and upgraded/re-angled torsion bars, the angle of the tie rod to the hub/lower arm and relay rod is a bit etxreme, I'm sure this isn't helping.

Bump on this!

I really need to do this change ;-)

Any out-of-the-box support on this, before I go making them or getting them one-off made?
