I'm amazed at the way some businesses treat people

I install Walmart junk, Bestbuy junk, Fleamarket junk, and Ebay junk everyday. Its my bread and butter. I do charge more when its not purchased from me and usually end up getting these customers for life after they deal with me.
We go through some of the same bullshit at the dealership. I can get this part cheaper at XYZ auto parts, Ebay, Craigslist etc, then we install it and it doesn't work the customer thinks we have either miss diagnosed there problem or broke there cheap part. My favorite one yet is the guy with a fairly new Grand Cherokee(WK) had a tire store replace the spark plugs in his vehicle and afterward he had a problem with loosing power and the check engine light coming on. The code was a transmission related code so after countless calls to our tech support line and technical representatives since this code is not making sense a PCM and a wiring harness were installed, the results were no change...long story short the tire store installed 12 Autolite double platinum spark plugs and 8 Autolite platinum plugs the engine was a 5.7L Hemi and after installing the right plugs the vehicle now runs fine. The owner came in on Saturday when my team was working (another team was working on the vehicle) and since I had known what was going on with the vehicle I had talked to him and he was calling us idiots and cussing about us not knowing anything about his vehicle so when he was finished I had asked him if we were the ones who installed the wrong spark plugs in his vehicle? He shut up at that point and said he was going to be talking with our service manager on Monday. He ended up paying the entire bill but said he was going to be taking us to court...what about the tire store who created the problem? They are the greatest according to this one.

Jason can you get me a price shipped to me of a radio and 4 6 3/4" speakers it just needs to be a basic AM/FM/CD/MP3 player preferably a a Pioneer or Kenwood I will also need a install kit and wiring harness for it it will be going into a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Infinity sound system the factory radio's volume no longer changes.

I say good for you both!
A bud that ran a fab shop told me something once that blew me away. He said he used to make kits that was of equal quality & fit, but cheaper than most of his competitors. Subsequently, he got most of the "bargain hunters" business (read, um..."underage"). The repercussions of this? He said 99% of them would call whining about minute crap... a scratch on an unfinished chunk of steel or something didn't line the way *they* thought is should/would, and wanted him to refund part/all of the price... even though it was initially lower than others.
He was about to stop the "consumer" kit business up one day (he still did a TON of fab for local industry), but figured that would hurt the folks that didn't have "Head in @$$" disease. He ended raising his prices (slightly higher than his competitors... which kept the "shoppers" away. He said his business doubled and calls related to fit/finish dropped to nothing!

I don't own a business but had a similar dealing recently with an underage buyer. I had some Mud Grappler tires on craigslist for sale. I get a call about them, an 18ish year old and a friend show up to look at them. we make a verbal deal on them and he borrows half the money from his friend to pay me. They even tell me how they are building this monster crawler together.

2 days later I get a call from the friend demanding his money back. Says his buddy won't pay him back and I should. Threatens to bring his father over to get his money back, even the the dad gets on the line and tells me I took advantage of his son. People are amazing!!!

Years ago I ran an online Reptile shop. I specialized in old world Chameleons and Gecko's. These things had very special husbandry requirements. My captive breed ones came with a one week guaranty. My imported ones came with no guaranty. I recommended you did lots of research on husbandry as each one had different requirements. I also recommended that only experts buy imports. I also had a booth at the Raleigh reptile shows. I would get people who ordered Chameleons and they would die after a few weeks in their care. I would tell them there is no guaranty on imports and they would whine and cry all the time. Had a 19yo boy come by a huge Mellers Chameleons from me at a show. We had a long talk on care and how it needed to go to vet. and get checked. I get a call from his mother 3 weeks later on how he had died and they said I had taken advantage of their poor son in college. I told her to look on the receipt and read the part about no guaranty and how we had a talk about the problems that can occur with imports and suggested that her son in collage should do the same. I finally ended up closing up shop due to the people who would buy stuff they had no idea how to care for or say well I can get it over here a little cheaper. Just got tired of dealing with all the cheap asses.

Neat lookin critters!^ (The bottom one forgot about his shadow though)

I saw this at a restaurant somewhere.

"Quatlity is like buying oats. If you want nice clean oats, you must pay a fair price. However, if you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse...well, that comes a little cheaper."

Cheap aint good and good aint cheap. If someone cant figure that out then their patronage of your business will cost you more than the profit recieved.
