For those of you that remember me, I'm back! This time, I'm drivin' a new 2006 Tacoma 4x4. This one has already seen off pavement use, but will still be a daily driver, pavement pounder for the most part, and I'm OK with that.

The law isn't welcome in these parts.

Law don't go round here in these parts law dog.

Guess you couldn't stand not having one after you sold the last TRD huh

Hey, what can I say? I'm slumming these days. I actually missed you bunch of lawless rogues.

The TL was nice, and a blast to drive, but I needed the ability to occasionally leave the asphalt. I was going to get a new Xterra for the enclosed cargo area, but Nissan has become quite proud of those things since my last one. The Taco works, and has enough room in the access cab for most of my photo gear. I also have the added advantage of using the bed as a raised platform for my tripod.

I'm sorry.. who are you? :flipoff2:

At least my shit isn't on jack stands doing duty as a garage ornament :flipoff2: back at cha.

and of course I got the Taco...just need to find out what they did with the transfer case lever. I've looked all over the cab and can't seem to find it.

My DD is as much a 4wd as yours, sucka.. It's just bigger, faster, louder, & older.

Probably time to change that tampon....

Rich wanted soooo bad to get a picture of him towing my truck when it broke down, fortunately it didn't work out. All he had to tow was my utility trailer.

It's a good thing he didn't get the chance.

God only knows what parts would have fallen off of the Dodge. ;)

So, does this rig have any non-civilian goodies installed?
:bounce:
Nope, I keep all that stuff for the Crown Vic...which has an idle speed problem and keeps stalling when the steering wheel is at full lock and the speeds are very low. Garage says its not a problem...They haven't about been run over while having to restart the stupid thing.

Solution - don't go full lock with no throttle applied.. :flipoff2: You shouldn't be holding the wheel at full lock anyway - the PS pump doesn't like it *neener neener*

Like I'm worried about part's longevity in this POS. I gotta do what I gotta do sometimes. I just today got windows XP installed on the computer. Works much better than the Windows 2000 that was on it. Main thing is I still have internet access while in the car.

Greg, Local SD car, I think a Crown Vic, was in a minor slide off the road accident. Burnt to the ground. News paper said it was common in those cars.

Yeah, they do tend to spontaneously combust if they receive a rear end impact. There is a screw or a bolt near the gas tank that tend to puncture the tank and the spark causes problems. Most of our fleet has been "engineered" to avoid the problem, but I am still a little weary of it. I know how our garage folks are.
