Yeserday (Sunday) evenin gwe were makin ga trek down I-85 and 40, from north of Oxford to Winston.
Between Oxford and Greenssboro, we passed no less than 9 HP vehicles (and those are just the ones we noticed). Being a holiday weekend, I figured they'd be out in full force... and admittedly being a recovering leadfoot, each and every time I caught myself hiting the brakes and checking my gauges (instinct), even though I knew I was keeping it below 75.
Beauty of it is - ever one of these cars was unmanned. I would not have noticed, my copilot (wife) did... so she started looking.
So, my hat's off to you, HP guys, whoever's idea that was. I've always marvelled that it was pretty unfair/uncool that on vacation weekends, it made more work for you guys. Hope you guys got a nice weekend off too. The 350 miles i wa on the road, things averaged a nice mellow speed. And, i guess this was a nice use for the scrub cars w/ bad engines etc, lol....
Wife and I agreed that the only thing needed was a "dummy" car w/ flashing lights and a "pulled car" here and there just to add edge to the few folks that picked up on the empty car trick....
Oh amd before anybody jumps on me for "blowing the cover", that's exactly why I waited until today to post up about it.
