I know a guy on here who did the exact same thing when we met at the Outpost prior to going wheeling. The break off handle worked just like it should and I want to say they charged him $50 for it.

The NC Department of Agriculture, Standards Division inspects all gas pumps in the state (part of the Gasoline and Oil Inspections law...NCGS 119). Gas pumps in NC are one of the few things you can be somewhat assured are correct and really aren't ripping you off.

Every time I go to a pump I feel ripped off. 'Course I'm old and remember gas being less than 50 cents a gallon.

I saw gas spew from a nozzle stuck in the filler while a guy cleaned his windshield years ago and I never leave the area while the gas is pumping. I might step to one side or the other if the wind and fumes are making me gag but I don't trust the pump to shut off when the tanks full. I have neglected to put the cap back on once or twice but i've never left the door open..........go figure
