I'm too lazy to try to search people in my area out ! Hickory friends ?

I'm not bashing and I never said you or any one did those things. The "real" wheelers I was refering to was the guys that are tring to combat the green boys and keep our trails open. When someone gets into those places just to get muddy so they can ride up and down 70 we get generalized to be red necks that just tear every thing up. It only builds a case aganst us that actually care. Thank you.
No my panties are just fine!:flipoff2:

Point taken, sorry about my response

Chiming in better late than never...I'm a little SW of Hickory, but work in town. Our new daughter keeps me pretty busy, but probably I'd be able to get together one evening after 5 or something...and would love to just go ride around in some of these LEGAL local spots, not looking for anything hardcore, but something fun one evening would be nice...

hey...I'm in Mountain View...never been wheeling...I grew up around Springs Road. Nice to see some HKY guys here...

And I had thought of getting a tatoo...and I now know one place I won't go...

I doubt that his are but the fact you have been her for a week or so, know nothing about a 4x4 yet are trying to insult people for instructing you on the legality of wheeling in the HKY area is annoying.
4-5 years ago we had shitton of places to ride around here and people demostrating the same attitude are the reasons they are closed down. How about just listening and learning a bit more?
If you need any spare parts for that Bronc let me know, I have a whole front end CHEAP.

The fact that I'm wet behind the ears doesn't give me less of a right to my opinion. Also doesn't change my ability to think for myself and display common sense. Just because I made mention of a couple of places that are known to be illegal ... doesn't mean that I go there ... nor that I condone others to do so. Simply pointed out an area that WOULD be fun / hard to conquer.

Parts you say ? There's only a small list of things I really need right now ... the main one being a window motor for the back glass. As well as a speedometer cable ( should anyone happen to have a spare .. and if so ... it's a 3 speed C6 with cruise. ) And the latch to let my driver seat forward is broken ... so I'd either need a seat that matches ( tan vinyl ) or someone that knows how to fix such a problem.

Point taken here as well.

I see a white Bronc in a JY on Springs Rd about 1-2 miles past the fire station heading toward Sigs. You could buy the tailgate and seats for what it would cost to fix yours I bet. Besides no need for the back glass with the top off!

I have some wheels, whole front end, Warn hubs, 1356 case, engine, ect if you have a need.

Thanks for the welcome. ( Again )

As for the JY ... would that be on Houston Mill Rd. Just off Springs ? If so ... it's being " stored " and he won't sell it for parts. Even if he would ... the window motor isn't in it anyways. I already took a look. As for the top being off ... I'm undecided there. My 4 year old complains about wind when I have all the windows down as it is ! lol .... besides ... isn't it a huge pain in the ass to get it off ... and an even bigger one getting it back on ? ( properly ) Do you not have to replace the seals ?

you dont have to replace to seals but it does suck ass to try to take it off. its has the safety star bits or whatever they are called. so find out what size they are and buy about 5 of them. i broke several then went to vise grips . that was when i was 16 so i was a little less expierenced. when u get them off replace them with some grade 8 bolts so the next time is much easier.

I saw the white one you spoke of today ... it's over at Drums ... there's an exact twin to mine over at A1 Towing on Highland ... but I've got bad blood with those towel heads ... or I'd harass them over parts. Anyone want to go in for me to see if they'd sell and for how much ? ( knowing these guys ... it'll be something like 1500 or more ... but it's worth a shot )

I think I'll just leave the top on if it's gonna be that bad. haha

Lets plan something at Jo Bells on 16 wednesday night at 6:30. We can ust see how many show up.

Yes I was thinking this Wed the 30th at 6:30

I guess I'll just keep an eye on here and see when or where people are meeting up. I'd love to get a chance to meet some others in the area.

I'll be taking my youth group to The farm in June, but just to watch. I don't quite have the rig needed to ride there

I'm in Lenoir, but I would be up for a meet and greet, just up 321 from you, lolif you wanna ride Brown Mt.,or Richlands Rd,let me know.

Tim:popcorn:

To be more specific ... it's old and run down .. been closed now for years. Stockyard restaurant as well is next door and shut down. That alone should make it obvious.

so we are meeting at closed business? will we be run off?

Why not meet somewhere we can go inside off to hangout if the weather is anything like todays?

Glad to know we will not get run off. A buch of rednecks hanging out a closed local would surely get the authorities attention. Of course this is in Conover. lol
