I'm wanting a drone now....

I like watching guys fly them, I have put one in the neighbors pool and crashed another. I'm going to study up before I purchase another.

I mean, it's ok fun to watch, but those are some ambitious claims. Filling football stadiums to watch people race easy-fly helicopters?

Apparently it's only easy if you're not anvilrubi.
I've been tempted a few times when I've seen a used one for sale. I'm sure it'll go much better than the RC plane I crashed.

if your eye hand co-ordination is questionable, you're better off tossing several hundred dollars into a paper shredder, thats the end result.

Lol, at least that's something I can manage to do if only a couple times

Bought my wife one for her birthday, only video we have from it is a mildly rough take off, sudden acceleration and a loud scream and my wife diving out of the way just before the big crash!!

You tell her that she isn't alone.

you mean like... just about any other motorized racing?

if you can't control your vehicle longer than 20 seconds and nearly decapitate yourself, then...YES

Have a friend, him and his dad hand built this replica gas powered plane. Spent crazy hours on the details. We have a total of about 32 seconds of video before it went rogue through the trees. Took weeks to get all the parts out of the trees. His dad was not happy!

Thats the equivalent of getting a really nice car for a teen just learning to drive. How long do you think it's going to stay nice, or not wrecked? That's why you get a cheap pos to learn on...

The one I have, which incidentally is for sale, is GPS enabled allowing it to hover in place. If you get the controls backwards you simply stop giving input and it will stop where it is and hover. Makes it easy to get a good feel for the controls, you can make small inputs without worrying about it flying away on you.

The guy that did video at my buddies wedding had one. He could push a button and it would return to remote and hover above it. Would do that also if its batteries were getting low. And had some kind of thing on it that alerted him if he was to close to tree limbs
