impco 225 on 93 ford 5.8

I picked up a f250 for a tow rig project. Plumbed between the air box and the throttle body is a impco 225 gas mixer. Didn't look like it was ever hooked up. Guess it was just in there to restrict air? Would this work? WTF have I gots going on here?

Yep, used to be a dual-fuel take all that crap off and just one one main line from the air box to the intake
