My 3 year old loves a trampoline, so we have decided to get him one for Christmas. Seeing if anyone here has done this, looks like a cool idea. Ours won't be a true in ground like mose of the pictures online, due to the slope of our yard. I think I'll sink one side level with the ground then work the rest out to keep it level, should also help with drainage underneath.

We have a trampoline and I considered making it in-ground. Being eastern NC, it would end up being a pool more than a trampoline.

But I did do some research on it. Trampoline should be really tight to the wall so there isn't a place for kids to step and break their leg, etc.

Trampoline assembly will be much more involved as you can't stand beside it and assemble as normal.

As usual, be sure to properly anchor it down even if it's in-ground.

As you said, drainage is important. Use sump pumps if necessary.

Make sure it has a net and covers for the springs/edge. It sucks to miss the thing and hit the ground or the springs/frame. I always liked jumping on rectangular ones better than round.

Reminds me of my Bard's beer bottle cap I got back in April. Ironic I got it while out with a bunch of coworkers (we're in nuclear) and we all agreed the trampoline is more dangerous if the fuel rods are new. If the fuel rods are used, then they are more dangerous.

Yeah it will definitely have the catch net, and our yard isn't as steep as the one in the picture I found. So more of the trampoline will be buried. As a kid we had one, had lots of close calls, but no real injuries. We even had it next to my grandmother's house so we could jump off here porch roof. Fun times!

I spent my childhood jumping on trampolines. There were 2 in my neighborhood, one next door with no net, and one across the street with a net. Guess which one we never used.

We did a lot of reckless things on it, but nobody ever got hurt. Had a few spills off the side, but that's it. We routinely had 4 kids on there at once jumping around.
We would also have what we called "trampoline fights." We'd have 2 people on there at once, you weren't allowed to stop jumping, and the first person to fall down lost. The goal was to knock the other person down. Good times.

I want on ground. Can't talk the wife into it. Shes worried about water collection. But won't listen to my solutions. Aggravating.

Don't do it! Your kids are going to explode in a fiery ball of flames if they even get close to it. I've heard the stories, those trampoline things are super lethal and extremely aggressive if provoked.

If it attacks, throw lawn darts at it.
