I get 2 or 3 texts a day from scammers on craigslist. Most of the time they claim to be buying the item as a gift and will send extra money for shipping. It's obvious after the first 100 scammers by the way they phrase it and the non local phone number. I started asking them if they believe in God. Most say yes. I then ask them if they call him Buddha or Allah. They all say Allah. Then I ask them about what does the Quran say about theft and never get a reply.

The interesting part is that the ones that reply to me are all Muslim.

Lol. Nice way to handle it. However the quran says decieving an infidel is okay. Interesting that its all islamic folks.

"What is the condition of the item" is what I get all the time. Sometimes I say held together with duct tape or about to burst into flames. Other times I just ignore them.

Yes, I'd like to find a better way to play with them and I'm open to all suggestions. I just don't know enough about their beliefs.

I reply with, "which item?" to which I rarely get an informed response.

I got a response the other day it was .
" I saw your van for sale on craigslist. I am willing to pay full price of $3500 for it and since I will pay full price I am to be considered your #1 buyer. I will be paying for the van through paypal as I have no time in my Schedule to come inspect it. I will send the full funds of $3500 to your paypal as soon as you send me an invoice from there. "
I don't know, it seemed a little off to me even though I regularly use Paypal in dealings and Ebay. Either way I didn't write the guy back.

Paypal is a POS. The buyer can dispute the charges and you'll be lucky if you ever get your $$$ back. If you don't have $$$ in your Paypal account, they will pull it from your bank account or have a negative balance you'll have to settle before you can continue using, etc. Its still a scam.

We need to find a way to scam them back.

That's easy...steal all the shampoo and soap from the motel room, and when you go to the gas station...make sure to help yourself to all the paper towels from the windshield washer station..then go take the free TP from the bathroom.

That's about the only way you're gonna cheat em' back.

Last time I used Craigslist my email got hacked. Never again...

How exactly did that happen?

CL only knows what your email address is. They don't have your password.

I'm not a hacker I have no idea. I put in an add for a cover band for my wedding. 3 days later I get a text and email from google stating my password had been changed and every contact I had ever emailed got a spam from me. In the 40 emails I got, everyone of them had a crazy Craigslist email format in them saying delivery unavailable.

Yeah, Craigslist had nothing to do with that.

Most likely, somebody used your password recovery options to get access to your account. That's usually the easiest way in.
