So I found this tractor on FB market place. ingersoll 3118 with implemants. Says it's 18 HP gas. Anyone have any experience with these? What are they worth? When were they made? The little research I have done so far says they were only made a couple years and motors are expensive to replace.

Not worth much in my opinion. Not really a collector item, just a very old mower. The Onan engine is Top Notch, & was more prevalent in Industrial equipment, like welders, generators, trenchers, & such. John Deer used it for a few years in their mowers, such as my 316 & the 318 models. Parts for Onan, are expensive, as it is owned by Cummins, & that is about the only source for block or rebuild parts. Goggle, should have some info on the Ingersoll. Btw, my JD 316, is a 1989 model, but I've seen the engines in equipment from the late 70s, through early 90s.

Well the guy has it posted for $1800 with a log spliter, chipper, tiller, mower, and blade. It sold already though. I have never seen a mower like that with hydraulic attachments. Looked like it would be great small garden tractor. Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on if that was a good price?

If all the attachments & hydraulics on the mower worked, that'd be about right. Most of the Heavier built lawn tractors, like JD, Cub, Wheel Horse, had hyd options. My 316 is plumber to the front, but not the rear. But I'd have to take the deck off to use the front hyd. The 318 & some other models, had 3 different lift/lower handles to operate different things. I've seen a few Nice 318s selling around $1800, but with no more than 1 front or rear blade, if any.

I have a John Deere 112 Patio Tractor from the early 70's that has hydraulic lift, PTO and a small 3 point hitch for implements. I have a front mounted plow blade and rear mounter tillers, disk harrow, plow and the 46" mower deck.

They were marketed to the homeowner and in non traditional John Deere colors. It's a pretty cool, fancy lawn tractor. I did stop mowing with it a few weeks ago as the deck is in rough shape and I was able to rebuild a JD LX176 that was left behind by my house's previous owner as a parts tractor.

I've seen a lot of 110 s, but don't know if I've seen the 112. 110 I don't think was heavy enough for attachments. Maybe that where the 112 came to be.

I did find some info. I don't have a huge budget but want a small tractor for mowing and other things. This model caught my eye. Maybe I need to rename the thread. Imgersoll 3118 and other garden tractors to look out for..... LOL!

I'm not sure that the 112 is much heavier than the 110 but I can tell you that the single blade plow/harrow tool does a hell of a job making trenches for wires and to trench a gravel driveway for drainage troughs.

The Deere's I've seen were a lot more expensive. I'll have to keep an eye out for these things. Are there other brands and models that have a good rep to look out for?

Cub Cadet, Allis Chalmers, Bolens. My neighbor actually has an old model Bolens, that some kin folk gave him. As large a unit as my JD 316, if not bigger. Has a push blade & tiller with it, but not hooked up. Mower deck mounted for now. It would need some work to get it running again. Been sitting 5 years or more, covered. He's never used it, & never will. I can get more info on it, if interested.

Does it have a 4 wire o2 sensor? If so, the heater might be toast.

Unplug it and see how it acts.

If the price is right and it's something I can make use of yes I'm interested. What model is the Bolens?

My dad has a 3118 Ingersoll. He bought it new around 1990 had to replace the 18 hp Onan a few years ago due to a valve seat failure. I believe he got a 20hp to go back on it. His has a hydraulic driven mower deck and a leaf bagger with a hydraulic blower.

I'll have to visit it again. It's in the style of the FMC G10 or G20.
Well, it's actually a 1700 Hydro Elimmator. Which is an odd name for a hydro powered drive. And the model is 5018H, which one would think, 50" deck, with 18 hp. But, research seems to show the Kohler engine to be 17 hp.
When I Goggled the 1700, I got a lot of info, & forms/ post, mostly saying they are 1 tough machine, especially the transaxle. Some models had a 2 speed rear, but I don't see that indicated. I do see a new electric clutch, a front drive pto, rear wheel weights, tires are still aired up, it is Not a 4 wh dr. Gas tank is poly, so that's plus. Owner [I thought] says it's been there 2 years. I was thinking over 3? Battery is in a shed. It still belongs to some kin folk, but he'll ask what they want for it. I could barely find the front push blade, the red thing, grown over in the ivey. The rear tiller, is barely seen, behind the almost new Husky tiller, & also the plow attachment. Both tillers, Seem, to be for sale, since the elderly man can no longer use them. He's kept everything covered, though they are outside. Bolens was running when they brought it over & parked it, but it's never been used or moved since. Here's a bunch of pictures. It'd be a great machine, if you wanted to get going again! BTW, it's a Pedal drive control. Forward / Reverse. In all the comments, I didn't find any complaints on this.

I mow my yard with a 1978 Allis Chalmers 720. It, and most other AC mowers, were made by Simplicity. Mine is the same thing as a Simplicity 9020. The only downfall is the lack of available parts. They were way ahead of their time. It has a 3 speed range box and is hydrostatic on top of that. There were tons of hydraulic accessories,, even a front end loader. PTO in the rear was an option as well as front hydraulic remotes. The deck is 60" and it raised and lowered via cables that run to the hydraulic 3 pt hitch. The deck is located by two arms that mount it to the front axle. It rides on 6 rollers across the back so it mows as good as anything you'll find today. I got lucky and found a warehouse in Wisconsin that had about 50 new old stock blades and bought two sets of them. It had 7.50-16 Ag tires on it when i bought it. I found some turf tires with wheels on ebay for $200. Put them on and all it would do is spin. Wheels were 15x10 and tires were 31x12.50s so after some thought, I remembered who made a 31x12.50 that would work great and I couldn't be any happier with the half tread boggers. I bought it with 800 hrs. It was originally powered by a 19.9 hp Onan. I had it on a steep hill and the Onan let go. Prob ran it low on oil. There's a company called Small Engine Warehouse that sells repower kits for the most popular older models. Thanks to them, mine is now powered by a new 23 hp B&S Vanguard. It was a direct bolt swap. Even had the wiring harness adapter and a muffler that put the exhaust out in the stock location.

That is officially the most badass lawnmower I have ever seen!

Thanks guys. It definitely gets some attention. Ive had people stop in the road in front of my house and watch me mow several times.

How does it do on sidehills? Considered doing an Aetna cut or TN cut on the boggers for better tracking? I like those grooved squat-truck fronts you're rockin'

It does great. When I bought the mower, it had the ribs in the front and the 7.50-16 ag's on the rear and it was destroying my yard. When I ordered the turf tires, I got fronts and rears. The rears spun and the fronts wouldn't stay on a hill so I made the decision to go with the boggers and I bought a new set of ribs for the front at the same time. I didn't want full tread boggers cause I knew they would tear up my yard too. I found a member on here that bought a set of 4 at half tread and he only needed 2 for his vw rail. It will stay on a hill to the point that the front slides down the hill and at that point its already so steep that I'm having to hold on to the uphill fender to stay on the mower. I really haven't found a need to cut them. I think I would be back to the original problem at that point. I run just enough air in the back to keep the beads seated and it's worked perfect so far.

About the mid 70s, The Boss I worked for had a B10, or 12, but probably the 10. His 2 sons had about destroyed it, & it wasn't running. I bought it off him, & it had many plowing attachments with it. Growing up, we never had a Riding mower, & we Push cut about 3 acres. Dad helped with the B10, getting to the local mower shop, & getting itrunning & cutting again. Single cylinder engine, Kohler, I think. Generator/starter. 3 speed, and a variable speed drive. Tractor tread on the rear. Deck was probably a 46". That 1 AC B10, mowed that yard, for probably 30 years, & when my parents sold the house, the mower stayed with it! Don't know if or how long the Next owner user it!
