Inner Bead Leaking Down

Like many here I have weld on outer bead lock rings and I call these wheels "Beadlocks" :D
Well my inner bead likes to burp out air at the exact wrong time on my left rear. I run Boggers on the rear and I want to run them at 5psi but I have to be at 8-10psi for them to not lose air.
I just dismounted them and the inner bead area on the wheel is very slick with leftover chrome from the process so I am planning to sand it down and allow them to flash over with rust so they're not so slick. Was also considering a bead sealer but I don't want to have issues with them resealing if I ever lose air again due to the sealer being in the way of a good seal.
What say you?

I’ve had this problem in the past when the chrome started to flake and peel. I’d say remove the chrome, but I would think that a smoother sealing surface would be better. I also use Slime in my “beadlocks”, but they don’t see road speed.

One popular thing with aluminum beadlocks that burp inner beads is to wrap a few layers of gorilla duct tape around the inner bead. It seems to work real well and may be worth a try.
