I have an 83 toyota pickup 22r, 5 speed manual, 4x4, stock. The transmission input shaft bearing is shot. Transmission has no identification tag, so not sure of trans part number. I do have trans torn down and bearing part number is R/N A1. Was told bearing is made by Timkin. E-mailed Timkin, they said they do not offer that bearing anymore. Tried local dealership and all local part stores napa, advance, auto zone, advantage, and carquest with no luck, ether wrong part or no listing. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

Rusty

if the number is A1, that crosses over to a BCA bearing that you can get from Advance.... take your bearing with you too the store and ask them if they have that number in stock... then match them up... if not typically they have a book with all the bearings and what not in them, if you can get them to go look thorugh it....

you can also check out ncttora.com, those guys might be able to hel pyou a lil more... plus htey have the FSM over there for you to look at...

Most any industrial transmission (bearings, chains, LoveJoys, etc) vendor should be able to cross it over. I rebuilt the tranny in my old '86 NiceAn for about $200 less than the stealership wanted. I just pulled the bearings and took them to either Dixie Bearing or Bearing Distributors (both in GSO) for a crossover... seems like it less than $60 for ALL of them...
