I've never installed a sub or amp before, and I don't really know what i'm doing. It's a 10" kicker with an eclipse amp. What is bridging? the input and output of the amp has 2 sets of + and - but I'm only hooking it to one speaker. Do i have to bring in the + and - from each of my rear speakers, and for the output, do i run from just one set, or do i take the + from one to the - of the other.

line level input = rca's directly from the cd player to amp
high level input = taking the +/- speaker inputs and using a converter to go to the amp.

to bridge the amp, GENERALLY, you use the two outside terminals...one will be + and the other -.

but just run the amp power wire, make sure your fuse is within 18" of the battery. Get a good groud, and then run the remote turn on to the back of your cd player (you'll connect it to the solid blue wire on the cd player) and then run your rca's on the opposite side of the truck from the power wire to avoid interference.

do NOT use your amp's gain to control volume, or you can go into clipping and burn your amp and sub up...you might want a competent shop to adjust your gains, as i doubt most people have an o-scope laying around lol.

also what's the difference between line level input and high level input?

High level means your using speaker wires from the radio or other speakers to send audio input to the amp. Line level is using RCA cables from the back of the reciever (pre amp output) or high level to line level converter to send audio signal to the amp.

Does her car have an aftermarket receiver? If so, the only reason you would use the high level input on the amp would be if her aftremarket receiver does not have the pre amp out on the back.

Line level are the outputs are rca outputs on aftermarket radios, high level is basically hooking up the input from a speaker.. If you have it use the rcas... What ohm is the sub?

The outputs on the amp should be labeled for bridging (which + and which - to use). You need to also make sure the amp has some type of low pass crossover built in.

Make sure if you have a 2 channel amplifier, that the subwoofer impedence isnt below 4ohms. If you dont have a dmm it should be labeled on the back of the woofer. If its a 1 channel then you will be fine with a 2 ohm load. Aftermarket CD player= using lowlevel inputs....RCA. OEM....all depends on the system. Post more details of the car and i could probably tell you to the t the tools you need to install, where to pull on each panel to release...blah blah blah.....
