Didn't get a pic, but the other night I saw a 4 full door chevy 1500 4x4, old body style, maybe 1996 1997 model. short bed. I know towards the end of the production run GM made some 1500HD and 2500 4 door trucks, but I have never seen a regular 1500 4 door. any info on this?

I have seen ONE. It was in asheville and was white z71 CC/SB. I know they made 2500's that style and I figured it was a 2500 body on a 1500 frame somehow.

when I did landscape work we had a customer who had one and it had little centurion badges on it. don't know if its something they made or a factory option?

Well centurion was responsible for the 4 door big broncos, so that could be a possibility, but there were no extra badges on it, and everything was stock Chevy. Hopefully ill see it again and get a pic.

ALL pre 2004 1500 (not counting 1500HD) crew cabs were Centurion conversions. They made quite a few of them. 2004 was the first year GM produced a 1/2 ton crew cab. I don't believe Centurion made any 2001-2003 crews though, 99 and 2000 were still available as the old body style.

As a side note, 99- Chevy/GM, 1500s had the new body style. The 2500s, used the 98 bodys, till they were used up.
That is not entirely true....there were several "Classic" body style 1500s sold in 1999, I don't believe there were any in 2000. Light GVWR 2500s were the new body style in 99 and 2000, while heavier GVWR 2500s and 3500+ were the old body style until the 2500HD/3500 was introduced in 2001. Crew cabs were not offered in the new style until 2001 with the 1500HD, 2500, 2500HD and 3500 trucks. Tahoes/Suburbans/Yukons changed to the new style in 2000, with the exception of the Denali, Escalade, Tahoe Limited, and Tahoe Z71.

Im not sure thats 100% true either, but I don't know whats light GVWR and whats heavy GVWR. I've got a 2000 model 2500 with the 8600GVWR, beefy frame, rear discs, and factory trans temp gauge, but its the newer body style.

Exactly, 8600GVWR would be the light duty GVWR 2500. HD would be 9200lb for a 2500. I don't remember the GVWR of the old body style 2500s, but I know it was less than the 2500HDs that came out in 2001 with 9200lbs. The 2500 frame was beefier than a 1500, (same as a 1500HD) but lighter than a 2500HD, all of the new body styles had rear discs from 99-04, then the 1500s went back to drum. Trans temp was available in the newer 1500HD-2500-3500 trucks, not in 1500s.

I seen a blue 95ish four door showing @ Galloways in the spring show!! i just thought it was a homebrew a really really nice homebrew but that being said somebody may have gotten a pic of it or maybe even be a member on here

I'm fairly certain that I've seen one here in Lexington. It's black and it belongs to a guy who is in the Davidson County rescue squad. I don't think it was a county vehicle, but I could be wrong.
