A few buddies headed out tonight to grab some grub at the local mexican joint (Don Pedros). Always had good experiences and the food is awesome. Sanitation grade has always been decent and the floors, tables, and bathrooms are always very clean. We order, get our food, and start to chow down......until my friend beside me finds a strange object. Yea, it was a freakin grub worm. Pretty big one at that, probably 1" long. We instantly spit out food out and ask the waiter to come over. Ask him "what do you think this is?" his response being "that looks like a worm". I wish i had taken a picture of the bugger now but he yanked the plate away pretty quick. Needless to say we left shortly after and i doubt i will ever step foot back in the place. I have eatin at some nasty places and honestly a hair is my food is nasty but im not going to wigg out about it...but a worm. I know some people eat those jokers in the wild but im not that much of a bad ass.

I have been to a few border towns that were nasty and never found any grub worms in my food there. Maybe they atleast chopped them up so i couldnt tell.

so whats the problem? That guy on discovery channel eats them all the time. Their good for you. LOL

dude...chill out. could of been any resturaunt. Atleast you know they make the food fresh. that worm probably came in some of the fruit or vegetables from the farm. if you go into the refridgerator i doubt that you will find a nest of grub worms.

If thats not the explanation....my only other guess is that chef pedro was hitting the bottle, couldnt handle the worm and spit it out...inadvertantly into what ever meal you happen to be eating. Trust me....you've eaten alot worse at a resturaunt, you just didnt know about it!!!!!!

It was part of the recipe and normally not noticed....good stuff (protein). Them guys on tv eat them from the ground and tree bark.

Dead...it had been cooked on the plate with the meal. Im not freaked out about it. We actualy laughed pretty hard about it but i would rather not know whats in my food. Atleast hide it in the burrito

sad to hear.... that place was pretty good. the trips the shitter afterwords though are a different story. austin is goin to be sad... :flipoff2:

Same thing happened to a friend of mine while eating at American Hero In Roxboro. Grub worm usually comes in fresh vegetables. Dose not mater how clean the place is ,sometimes one just slips threw.

chill nothin! It wasn't on the menu, I didn't order it, then it shouldn't be there! If I was in the wild and trying to survive, I'd probably get excited about finding it and kick your ass if you tried to take it :D

Lol, no need to fight, you can have the bugs. i'll stick to nuts and berries.
