I found a 2000 dodge 2500 4x4. It looks as though its a Dana 60, but I haven't slid under heath to see. If someone knows chim in. I have a 81 w250 with a Dana 44 and was looking at swapping this newer axle. Also I would think it had a 4:10 or so ratio. That's what ratio my 81 has. Ill take pics and any more advice would he appreciated to detail the axle to find out what it has. I should be there tommorrow to talk to the guy and slid under it to get some info.

99% sure your 81 w250 will be a passenger side drop axle. a 2000 ram will be driver side. Not to mention, they came in 4.10 ratios but in my experience, thats not the most common ratio...as well as its a pretty undesirable axle and set up to run coils...

There were two gear ratios available for that truck. 3.55 and 4.10. The axle is more than likely center axle disconnect. It also has unit bearings with no locking hubs. You're going to spend enough money on this axle, to make it what you want, to buy a good leaf sprung 60 with no CAD and locking hubs. Just converting it to serviceable wheel bearings and locking hubs will cost you at least $1500.
