Im looking at putting a 350chevy in. Will my r150 transmission and the transfer case. Hold up i have a 4runner with 37" tires thanks for all and any input:bounce2:

All depends on how you drive and how healthy that SBC is. If you drive like a grandpaw and the 350 is stock, Yes it will hold up. If you arent afraid of the skinny pedal and drive like most guys on here, No you will grenade it. Id say run it until it blows then upgrade from there. May last forever, may break first time out.

well at least your r150 is 23 spline but man stick with the yota parts!lol! Just go to LC enginnering and buy one of there beast crate motors hahahaha!

X2 ^ You really never get over a toy V8 swap, it seems to always give you trouble especially with the overheating. You can do a few easy add-ons to a four bang and not have to cut anything. Not to mention a larger feul cell.

my 2 cents

if you must v8 then be prepared for the cost of replacing everything behind it but if you can do a little at a time and keep your foot out of it until you beef it then go for it.

bigger radiator bigger tranny bigger tank bigger axles and to answer your question the trans is undersized for a v8
and since your going to have to get an adapter and redo everything anyway so why not use what you need right from the start and not go through all the extra headache.

i have 4.3 would i be safe to just put that in its all stock and i need a motor and i would just rather stick to stuff in i know how to work on and im good with chevys so thats why im looking in to swaping i am putting 1tons under it bc im dd it so it has to be some what tuff but it will not be getting drivin hard any more i got make the next motor last
