Caddyshack DID have a sequal. It SUCKED. Jackie Mason is no Rodney Dangerfield, Dan Akroyd is no Bill Murray and Chevy Chase isn't even up to the level of Chevy Chase!

The problem with sequals most of the time isn't the writing, it's usually that the original movie was so successful that the actors get all fat and happy off the paycheck and insist on THAT MUCH more to do a sequal, thinking (and they are right) that the sequal can't be done without me, so I can ask whatever I want and get it.
I can't think off the top of my head of a single sequal that was better than the original that didn't have the same cast (takes Lethal Weapon off the table).

Or Mad Max, but I really wasn't all that impressed by Beyond Thunderdome. Rumer has it that they are planning yet another sequal, but I think this one will take place in between the others.

Yeah, Stallone is currently looking for someone to play John Rambo in a Rambo prequel. Not much hope for that one.
Oh...and did any one see the New Conan movie a couple years ago? flop.
By the way....The Incredible Hulk was a better movie than The Hulk. i think the only case where the second movie was better.
