I can't for the life of me get my hub to work? I even changed out complete hub innards with same thing, all cleaned up and greased. What I notice though is that the center of the stub axle is about 1/2" (1/4" both sides) out of center from the center of the hub after the hub and rotor is tightened down snug with the first nut. The hub and rotor bearings turn fine though? But after I get the hub together and snap in / on the rings, the outer part of the locking hub assembly is rubbing against the inside of the hub, being wedged between the hub and shaft and not wanting to line up to mate with the second part of the locking hub assembly. I've even tried filing the teeth down on the corners for a better mate. I can take them out and they mate just fine. And I've tried prying on the stub shaft to try to center it but it's a no go. But while pushing just the inside teeth part in on top of the spring, it'll pop out like a 3 day old zit. No spline conflicts. Even the outer teeth piece goes on the shaft nicely.
Running stock Ford hubs on Dana 44. Going to try swapping spindles over the weekend. Just wondered if anybody else ever had this issue and if it's a bent spindle for sure or if there's something else to check? This is happening without the caliper on it. The shaft direction is pointing more downward. Even when I turn the gears it don't move up to center. I didn't try it before I pulled this (new to me) axle to drop in a mini spool to see if it worked before, but the rest of the suspension needed MUCH work... Every single spring bolt was stuck and had to be cut out and they were running double blocks on the rear which twisted a rear spring shackel. A mess...
Thanks,
