For example just hooked a buddy up with a 98 xj clean title all stock needs a key cylinder(works some times) runs and drives looks good but windows where left down interior is nasty but for 500 bucks its a deal what do you guys think is it worth the trouble to put them up here

What kind of vehicles are we talking about here? The typical junkyard cars or the good stuff?

I would love to find a $500 Cherokee that runs and moves under its own power that needs work.

LoL

Most of these cars are good i work to much and dont have thr room to fix them ofcorse some are crap or bill of sale only but he brings in 8 to 10 cars a day so im only interested in the cream of the crop i will get some pictures of good ones and put them up here if i can make a few bucks and help people out i will be happy you will have to move on them pretty quick when the lots gets full they will have to be scraped it almost makes me cry what they scrap every day

I would think so...... two things that have gotten hard to find since the messican influx.... single fat girls and $500 dollar cars....

In all seriousness though, 500 bucks for a runner is a deal. Especially if you're doing an engine swap or something. I'd rather buy the whole vehicle and swap out what I need then junk the rest for scrap price. Recouping some of the cost. Post up what you got.

LMAO!

Figure 8 dirt track racking is full of $500 and under beaters....
w $10K motors in em.
Thanks to metal goin so high and cash for clunkers you couldn't find cheap cars to flip but now that the price is back down and theres a whole new batch of clunkers you could probably do all right. My buddy use to call em drunk cars.An old drunk will buy a $1000 car so if he looses it hes not out much.He would always have 3/4 ready to go around tax time. The first comp I ever bought was paid for w money from a truck I sold.

I would be interested in the engine on the 98 xj

Windows left down, or a flood car??

I think there'd be a market....why not try? Start small, if one sells, then get 2 more.

Flood cars?? If you get into this venture and need flood cars, there are plenty of those around here!!! "500 year flood" my ass.. twice in less than 20 years. Most of them are still sitting in yards waiting to be picked up by insurance, covered in that nasty mud film.

LOL. my dad's been saying that for years.

He has a contract with local scrap yards for people looking to get cars picked up and scraped

Yea...that's the problem with most of the scrap cars...either no title or very little paper work. Or too much work to make it profitable to fix and sell. So they get scrapped and/or parted.

I used to junk cars, on the side. I've sat in line at the scrap yard & lusted at some of the cars getting scrapped by others! It Hurts! Later, through a dealer friend, I got many of his "wholesale" vehicles. Junked some, parted out, & others, resold as cheap runners. It just got to be too much trouble dealing with the titles, & Craig's List. But you may have a better market here, Especially 4 wh dr.!

My daughters and I have been talking about a $100.00 car project ..... with a 1 month, $400.00 dollar additional budget limit ......
So you're too rich for my blood.

Matt
